Notes for 2025-2026 K1 Admission Application

We are a non-profit making kindergarten managed by the Hong Kong Chinese Church of Christ. The “Notes for Admission Application” is designed to inform parents about our arrangement for admission, procedure and admission criteria. Should you have any further inquiries, feel free to contact our staff.

Our school has joined the ‘Kindergarten Education Scheme’. If your child will attend K1 class starting from September 2025, parents are required to apply to the EDB for a Registration Certificate for KG Admission from September 2024.The application form is available at District offices, Post offices and Regional education offices of the EDB and can be downloaded from the Education Bureau webpage.

1) Admission Qualification:

The child applicants must be:

  • born on or before 31 December 2022.
  • Hong Kong residents with right of abode, right to land or valid permission to remain without any condition of stay(other than the limit of stay) in Hong Kong.

2) Classes open for application:

  • AM Classes

  • Whole Day Classes

3) Online Application:

  • Parents can hand in the required information and documents of admission through our school website from 5th September 2024.(No limited quota)
  • Prepared documents: A proof of birth certificate/certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode, medical records from Family Health Service, a recent photo of the child applicant and payment receipt of application fee/online transaction proof
  • Application fee: HK$40
  • Payment method: Bank transaction, FPS

4) In-person application:

  • Parents are welcome to come to our school during office hours for in-person application from 5th September 2024.(No limited quota)
  • Prepared documents: A copy of birth certificate/ certificate of  Entitlement to the Right of Abode, medical records from Family Health Service, a recent photo of the child applicant(1.5 X 2 inches) and payment receipt of application fee/online transaction proof.
  • Application fee: HK$40

  • Payment method: Bank transaction, FPS

5) Interview arrangement:

  • Date: 9th November 2024 (Saturday)

  • All applicants will be arranged for an interview. Further details will be provided 31st October 2024 (Thursday).

  • Your child will be accompanied by one guardian only.
  • The format of the Interview will be individual meetings and play-based activities.
  • As Cantonese is the main teaching language of our school, the interview will be conducted in Cantonese. Applicants can also use Mandarin or English during the interview.
  • We allow Non-Chinese speaking children and parents to be accompanied by a Chinese speaking relative/friend during   the interview to facilitate communication. We can arrange interpretation and/or translation service for applicants if needed, please contact us by call before the interview.

6) Admission criteria

  • Children’s behaviours, including their manner, discipline and emotions, will be observed when teachers are playing with them.
  • Children’s ability to express themselves will be observed during the interview.
  • Children’s reactions and characters will be observed during the interview.
  • Children’s emotional expressions and reactions are most important.
  • For applicants of whole-day classes, priority consideration will be given to families with needs.

7) Interview Result

Parents will be informed of the interview results by mail before 20th November 2024.(Wednesday). Parents who do not receive the interview results, please contact us by call.

8) Central Registration

  • Successful applicants:
    Parents should complete the registration procedures for their child from 2nd to 4th of January, 2025 (“Centralised Registration Dates”) by submitting the original of the “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission (RCKA)” to the kindergarten and paying the registration fee.
  • Applicants on the waiting list:
    If the successful applicant fails to register during the “Centralised Registration Dates”, the school may notify the applicants by phone to allocate the unfilled places to applicants on the waiting list. Then, parents should complete the registration procedures for their child according to the specified date set by the school. Parents are required to submit the original of the “RCKA” to the kindergarten and pay the registration fee.
  • Unsuccessful Application:
    Applicants refer to the K1 vacancy information released by the EDB on its website after the “Centralised Registration Dates” starting at the end of January 2025.
  • Please be reminded that if parents cannot submit the “RCKA” during the registration date ( 2nd to 4th of January, 2025 ), the kindergarten may not be able to complete registration for their child. Hence, parents are required to submit an application for the Registration Certificate to EDB within the specified period.
  • The registration fee for the 2025/26 K1 place half day class is HK$970 and the whole day class is HK$1,570.
  • For those applicants who are admitted to a half day class, the registration fee will be refunded in September. For those applicants who are admitted to a whole day class, the registration fee amount will be deducted from the September tuition fee.
  • Should parents decide to change school after registration, please notify the kindergarten in writing. The kindergarten will return the “RCKA” but the registration fee will not be refunded. Upon obtaining the “RCKA”, the kindergarten will no longer keep the school place for the child.

9) Support measures for non-Chinese speaking children

  • Look into the needs of individual children and their families.
  • Can be accompanied provided by teachers dedicated to non-Chinese speaking children.

11) 2024-2025 School fee (amount of government subsidy deducted) ：

School fee of half-day class : Free
School fee of whole-day class : $1029(per month)
Meal charge of whole-day class : $480 (per month)
